We had parent-teacher conferences on Friday and this is when we got Amelia's first report card. Ms. Rain had nothing but great things to say about Amelia. She was SO VERY impressed by how well she reads, currently at a 2nd-3rd grade level. She is also leaps and bounds ahead in math, already doing addition and subtraction at a mid-year 1st grade level. The second part of the report cards outlines all the different components for each subject. Ms. Rain said in the 20+ years she has been teaching she has never given out all 4's and 5's in the 1st quarter. Needless to say we are very proud of our smart little girl. WAY TO GO AMELIA!!!

My Beautiful Girls
Book Report
Ms. Rain and I decided that the work they are doing in class and for homework is not challenging Amelia enough. They are working on learning the letters and letter sounds and Amelia is already reading level 2 books. So Ms. Rain has been giving Amelia extra homework. Today was a book report. Amelia read the book and did the report all by herself. She makes me so proud.
Play House
I have been searching for a play house for the girls. I finally found a clean one in good condition on Craigslist. My friend Tiffanie was nice enough to haul it to my house. My girls were thrilled. It is only temporarily inside, it will eventually go to the yard but it is fun to have it inside for a while at least.
Happy Apple Farm
Amelia had her first field trip last Friday. Both Kindergarten classes got to go to Happy Apple Farm. I drove with another mom and followed the bus since I had Nina but Philip surprised Amelia and took the day off to go on the bus with her. We didn't tell her that he would be there and she was very proud when he showed up. When we got there we all got a tractor ride to the hay barn to eat lunch. Then the kids all had to go in the field and find the 8 stages of a growing pumpkin, seeds, shoots, vines, blossoms, small green pumpkin, big green pumpkin, big yellow pumpkin and finally a big orange pumpkin. After they found all 8 stages they got to pick out a pumpkin to take home. It was a great time, the kids loved finding the stages of the pumpkin. We even bought Nina a little pumpkin on the way out, one that she could actually lift.
