McCore and Poppy

Amelia has 2 new imaginiary friends named McCore and Poppy. They live next door and go everywhere with Amelia. When she gets a boo-boo you have to put a pretend bandage on McCore and Poppy. When she goes to the bathroom so do McCore and Poppy. It is pretty funny. I especially love the names she comes up with.

**Update** There is now a 3rd friend named Noodle.

The Little Mermaid

Amelia has been watching The Little Mermaid repeatedly since Philip ordered it for her on Netflix. Today she told me "Ariel wear clamshells for boobies because she doesn't have real boobies." I didn't know what to say to that and had to try really hard to keep myself from laughing, so I just said "OK."

Medals and Pizza

Today was the last t-ball game of the season. Amelia has really warmed up to the sport and played really well today. The best part was after the game when they all lined up and were given their medals. AFter that we got to play on the playground and head over to Boriello Brothers for a pizza party. Of course, Amelia was most excited about the pizza party and had been talking about it all week. We ended up (after a slight fiasco) at the best pizza place. After all the kids and parents ate, the owner of the shop came and and let each of the kids have a turn catching the pizza dough. He showed them how to fling it up in the air and then tossed it to them. Overall, I think Amelia liked t-ball. She said she wants to play next year. Next up is soccer!

Getting her medal from Coach Dave, who by the way is a wounded Iraqi veteran.

Looking at her medal.

Swimming Lessons

Amelia is in her 3rd straight session for the summer. She is really making great progress. Here she is doing the back float and front float all by herself. Granted it is only for a couple of second each time but she is learning.

Amelia the Plumber

Amelia is a child of many hats. Sunday she put on her plumbing hat to help Ty install some new pipes in preparation for sprinklers. We are not sure why, but Amelia just seems to idolize Ty. She was just following him around and watching everything he was doing.

What we have been up to lately

It has been very hot around here. We have been to the zoo a couple of times and to the sprayground a couple too. We have been doing a lot of jumping on our new trampoline and since it is in the shade, I just take a book and Amelia gets to jump to her hearts content. I would have pictures of that but everytime I bring my camera out there, Amelia comendeers it to take pictures of Buddy. Someday I will be stealthy enough to get a picture of her jumping. We are putting sprinklers in our backyard and hopefully getting sod back there in the next couple of weeks. I am excited to not have a dirt lot anymore.

Grandma Kitty and Papa Ike came to Amelia's t-ball game today. Amelia played relatively well. She didn't need any help hitting the ball. The first time she was up to bat, she hit the ball and rane to first. On her way to second she spotted a girl on the other team with the same glove as her and proceeded to try to rip it off the girl's hand while screaming "Give me my glove!" It took 3 parents to explain that it wasn't hers. The other little girl had the most terrified look on her face. The next time Amelia was on her way to second base, the coach forgot to tell her to stop, so like Forrest Gump, she just kept running. She finally stopped, and we realized she was gone, at the second base of the other game. All in all it was probably the funniest game she has played. I guess we need to work on our base running.
