Spaghetti Face

This is what happens when Nina feeds herself spaghetti, which just happens to be her favorite food.

First Day of School

Amelia was so excited for the first day of Kindergarten. She was awake at about 6:00 am and this is a girl who will sleep until 10:00 if you let her. She picked oatmeal for breakfast and was ready to go. She said her favorite part about the first day was the monkey bars, which she "probably did a million times."

The Tooth Fairy

On Tuesday night, the night before Kindergarten, Amelia lost her first tooth. She was very excited for the Tooth Fairy to come. She is still planning on how to spend her $5, she did offer to buy a toy for Nina and I thought that was a very sweet gesture.

Back to School Bash

The weekend before school we decided to have a back to school bash and spend the weekend doing fun stuff in Denver. We went to the Nature and Science Museum first. Nina liked being about to touch everything. Amelia liked the Planetarium. Then we found our hotel and went swimming. Since it was Philip's birthday we went out to a nice dinner. We then discovered Nina had pink eye so had to find a 24 hour Walgreens for her medicine. The next day we went to the Denver Zoo. It is safe to say both kids loved the new Adventure at the Shore, there was a little waterfall/wading area to play in and a giant sandbox too. Nina got very mad when we mad her get out of the water.

My Little Fashionista

Nina loved being able to walk through the whole museum. She is not child that will need a stroller for long.

I could not get a picture of Nina's face, I spent the whole time chasing her.

Amelia made some new friends.

And now we are ready for Kindergarten!

One Year Old

Nina's 1st birthday was Saturday and we had a giant party. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun. We had a big BBQ and a giant inflatable slip-n-slide. The kids all had a great time. Thank goodness I had Grandma Susie here to help or I wouldn't have gotten any sleep with all the preparations. Nina had a rainbow party, complete with rainbow cupcakes and decorations. Even the slip-n-slide had rainbows on it. I would have to say it was a successful party.

I can't even believe that my baby is already 1. This past year went by so fast. Nina walks now and says about 10 words. Her favorite words to say are Mama and more, those 2 words will pretty much solve any problem that she is having. She has learned to navigate the stairs and can get on and off the couch. She is a little dare devil and you always have to have one eye on her to make sure she isn't getting into any trouble. Nina is a very joyful child. You really couldn't ask for anything more.

I just love all her expressions while enjoying her birthday cake.
