Rollerskating

On Saturday, Philip and I took Amelia rollerskating. Well, Philip took her rollerskating and I took pictures from the sidelines. I figured it wouldn't be wise to have an uncordinated pregnant lady on wheels. Amelia really liked it. She only lasted about 45 minutes but she did really well for her first time. She even did the Hokey Pokey and the Chicken Dance. I have video of that and someday I will put all my videos on YouTube so it is easy for you to see them. Right now I haven't the time nor the inclination though. So rollerskating was a hit, Amelia asked to go back again. Amelia has the great quality of never being afraid to try something new and I really admire that in her.

Valentine's Day

On Thursday, Amelia had her Valentine's Day party at school. All the kids exchanged Valentines and then got to decorate their own cupcake. Amelia didn't eat the cupcake, of course, but she did make short work of the frosting and sprinkles. Then on Friday our friends invited us over to decorate Valentine's Day cookies. My friend Kathryn really is a super-mom. When we invited themfor Christmas cookie decorating, they were cookies from a tube, she made from scratch sugar cookies on Friday morning. It is all I can do to haul my behind out of bed early enough to make it to our playdays. That was a lot of fun too and again, Amelia made short work of the frosting and sprinkles. So far Amelia really likes Valentine's Day. She tells me that Valentine's Day is all about sharing with people you love but I suspect she is really in it for the candy.
