Before and After

We recently refinished our kitchen cabinets and countertops with the Rustoleum Transformation Kits. It turned out great! The cabinets were the most work and we were lucky we did them over Memorial Day weekend to get an extra day to work. The countertops were very easy but very messy. Overall I think it was definetely worth it. It is a true transformation!

Little Baby Robins

Last month or so we discovered there were robins building a nest on our meter box right by the back door. Everytime you would walk out they would fly to the fence and just watch you. A couple days later the nest was all finished. Then I lifted Amelia up to see if there were eggs, she said she thought she saw 3. A couple of days ago we finally saw the babies poking their heads out of the nest. There are 4 little babies all crowded in there. The mom will still just watch from the fence. It is pretty cool for Amelia to get to see how they went from building the nest to the eggs hatching.

Flower Pots

We have been having a home improvement extravaganza here lately. Since we are a cash and carry family, it gets done a little each paycheck but so far we have built the fence to extend the backyard, built the swingset, refinished the kitchen cabinets, painted and bought new accessories for the upstairs bathroom, and filled in the flowerbed with rock and put flower pots out instead. We got a pot for each member of the family and everyone painted their own pot, except Nina because she would eat the paint and I am guessing that is not in any of the food groups, so Amelia painted Nina's too. Amelia painted hers with fairies and unicorns, Nina's has stripes and dots and so does mine and Philip's is CU, of course. Also on the list for this summer is finishing the back patio, including picking out patio furniture, refinishing the kitchen and bathroom countertops, sectioning the yard and putting gravel under the swingset, new carpet in the upstairs and living room, a loveseat for the loft, painting the kitchen, seeding the yard, and who knows what else. One weekend at a time and it will eventually all get done I suppose or at least I hope.

Amelia

This is what happens when you let Amelia dress herself. She has her own sense of style that is for sure.

Nina

Nina is 10 months old now. She is growing so fast, she can stand up without using anything to pull herself up, she likes to squat and stand, squat and stand. She loves to eat, still loving to feed herself the most but she will tolerate being fed oatmeal in the morning. She is still always happy, even in the morning will just play quietly in her crib, she rarely cries. Nina is my little troublemaker and into everything. I don't remember Amelia being as crazy as Nina. Nina likes to play peekaboo and will put any type of cloth over her head to play.

Eating a lemon, she would pucker her face but still keep eating.

Playing in my work desk, where she knows she is not supposed to be.

Playing in a box

The happiest baby ever!

The New Swingset

It took longer than we had thought it would but it is finally done. I think it took about 7 days, not counting a whole day spent sorting and categorizing the wood. But it was all worth it to see the look on Amelia's face. We still have to section it off and put down some pea gravel and get Nina a baby swing though. Amelia has been out to play on it everyday, she absolutely loves it and we will definetely get our money out of it.

Amelia's Preschool Graduation

For some reason my blog won't let me upload any pictures of the graduation. You will have to suffer through the video to see Amelia. It is pretty cute and I don't even think you can hear me crying.
