Sprayground

4 posts in one day is a record for me, or at least an indication on how far behind I am. The ladies from my work and I decided to meet once a week for a fun activity with all our children. Last week we went to Palmer Park and this week we chose the Sprayground. We pack a picnic and let the kids play for a couple of hours. They had a blast and it is nice to have a conversation with another adult in the middle of the day.

Fun with Balloons

Britany and Amelia recently blew up about 100 water balloons. Here is the result of part of that venture. Apparently, they did the same thing to the dog but on a larger scale while I was a work. What good pets we have to just sit there and take it.

Cousins

Amelia and I took a day trip up to Denver to visit Shonie and the kids. Amelia has such a great time there with those girls, I think because they give her everything she wants and do whatever she tells them. Angelo and Britany came back to our house with us for a week. Britany was Amelia's new hero.

The friendliest cat I have ever seen. It actually chose to follow 4 very loud girls down the street.

The Zoo

Over the past couple of weeks we have made a few trips to the zoo. We went in the evening for Philip's company picnic. It is nice to go in the evening when some of the animals are more active. The tiger and the mountain lion were both actively hunting the children walking by their cages.

Sleepover with Grandma

Grandma Kitty invited Amelia, Olivia and Cyan to her house for a sleepover. She picked them up on Friday and spent the whole day and Saturday they went to Bison for a fishing contest. No fish were caught but some prizes were won anyway. Amelia won a Spiderman fishing set that she is very proud of. She loves superheroes so it is the perfect prize. The girls had a great time and all 3 fell asleep in the car, although Amelia didn't fall asleep until 8th street, whereas Olivia was asleep at Bluebird Hill. When we got home Amelia had to show off her Father's Day card for Philip, complete with butterfly and princesses, and the drum that they made with Grandma. She also got a new puzzle to take home. She is a puzzle girl so this was the perfect toy for Grandma Kitty to buy her. When we got home I told Amelia that I missed her very much and she told me she had too much fun to miss me. She has already asked when she gets to go back to Grandma's house. Thanks Mom, Amelia had the time of her life.

The Astros

Amelia had her first t-ball practice today. Her team is the Astros and her coach's name is Coach Dave. Amelia is very excited to have a coach. She always makes Philip and I pretend to be her coach at home, she tells us to just yell "Go Amelia Go". Practice was very chaotic and very cute, what else would you expect from a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds. They ran the bases and practiced batting and fielding. It took awhile to understand that you don't field the ball that you hit and then run to the base, most kids would hit the ball, run and pick it up and run to the base. This is essentially tagging yourself out. It is probably something that Coach Dave will work on. Amelia loves her jersey and her hat. She is so proud to have a "uniform" but she say the hat makes her head itchy. We are all very excited about the upcoming season. It should be a lot of fun.

She really puts her booty into her swing. I think Uncle Chase needs to give her some tips.

This pretty much sums up the first practice. Luckily there is no where to go but up.

Up

Today Amelia and I had a special trip together to the movies. We went to see Up. We really enjoyed it, although it did make Amelia a little nervous and there were a few tears. Luckily we went to the first show of the day so the theatre was not full. While we were waiting for the movie to start Amelia asked me to take her picture and she kept posing. She is usually not big on the whole picture thing so this was a surprise for me.

Amelia and Her Dogs

The other day was Amelia's first swimming lesson of the new session. The teacher was having the kids introduce themselves and say what their favorite animal is. Amelia said that her favorite animal was her dog Spot, which her favorite lovie (stuffed animal). Spot goes everywhere with us, he even gets his own seatbelt in the car. So here is a picture with Amelia, Spot, and Buddy.
