Amelia's Christmas Program

Amelia had a very nice Christmas program at school. They learned about 5 or 6 brand new songs and then had snacks, even cupcakes to celebrate Jesus' birthday.

Decorating the Tree

I convinced everyone to get a real tree this year. That is one of my best memories as a kid and, while we didn't go cut our own tree, I want my girls to remember the same thing. I always love the smell of pine trees, it smells like Christmas and fake trees just don't cut it in that department. Amelia decorated the tree all by herself this year. She only let Philip and I do about 5 ornaments. She even got out her stepstool so she could get the top. It turned out perfect!

Gingerbread-apalooza

We went a little gingerbread crazy this year. We did little houses and a giant boy at our friend's house and we also decorate a gingerbread train at home. Even Santa got left gingerbread cookies this year.

A Warm Day

We took advantage of a beautiful 60 degree day and went to the zoo with our friends. It was probably the first time Nina has been to the zoo and not cried, so I believe that makes it a success.

She Even Eats Cereal

Nina now eats baby cereal. She has tried Rice and Oatmeal and really doesn't care for either one. She tolerates it and humors me because that is the kind of girl she is. I have video of this too and I will post it someday.

Who does that mischievous smile remind you of?

This is Nina most common face, she is always biting her lower lip.

"Why are you doing this to me?"

Amelia thought it was very cool she could finally help feed Nina. It is the one thing she has been talking about since I was pregnant that she wanted to help with,

Thanksgiving

Here are some cute pics from the Chavez family Thanksgiving. Amelia and Cecelia always have such a great time together.

4 Months Already

Sleeping on Thanksgiving Day

She appears to be in deep thought.

"Why am I wearing this ridiculous hat?"

What a happy girl!

Nina is already 4 months old (actually because I am so far behind posting, she is 4 1/2 months old). At her well check she was 25 1/2 inches long/90th percentile, 11 lbs 10 oz/12th percentile, and head circumference of 41 cm/66th percentile. Her personality is really starting to show through, she is very happy. She has a ticklish tummy and laughs when you bite her cheeks. She is very auditory, she loves noises. She hates riding in the car though and will cry the whole time. She is a good night sleeper but not much for naps, she somedays will only nap for 45 minutes. I think she believes she is missing something important if she falls asleep. When she wakes in the morning, she just talks to herself and waits patiently for someone to come get her. She really is the happiest baby and we are very lucky to have her.

Thanksgiving Program

Amelia had a Thanksgiving program at school. They sang Preschool Rocks and Thank You, Lord. It was very cute. I have video of it but haven't had success posting on YouTube so that will have to follow later. After their songs they had a feast. Amelia ate her roll and that was about it, big shock I know.

Amelia and Alessandra

She was happy she got the sparkly turkey.

Birthday Party

Amelia recently went to a party at My Gym for a boy in her class. They really put on a good party there. The kids had a blast and it was nice for me to be able to sit down and chat with the other moms.

Copy Cat

Tell me these two girls don't look just the same.

Rolling Over

Nina is just SOOOOO close to rolling over. She is so strong, it amazes me everyday how fast she is growing.

Halloween

Amelia designed her own costume this year so it should not come as a shock that it is very Pippi-ish. She was a kitty-cat ballerina. Nina was a strawberry, which was so adorable.

Scarecrows

Last week we went down to Old Colorado City to see the scarecrows that all the businesses build and display. It was fun. Our favorite was the scarecrow tea party complete with a pram full of scarecrow babies.

First was a stop at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a caramel apple. Amelia chose chocolate covered marshmallows though.

Amelia, Alessandra and Marco just loved this giant rubber duck and the giant candy pieces in there too.

Peeking through.

Pippi Longstocking

We like to call Amelia Pippi Longstocking because she has the same sense of style. She likes to mix and match shoes, gloves, different pattern clothes. She will always look wild if given the chance to dress herself, which she gets often since it doesn't bother me that she looks like a crazy orphan. Here are some examples of her Pippi-ness.

My winter hat while sleeping.

Two different gloves (Grandma too).

Wild leggings with an already wild dress.

2 Months

Nina is already growing faster than I would like. She is 2 months old already. She loves to smile and coo. She loves the ceiling fan and her crib mobile. She always falls asleep in the car. Nina is a pretty good sleeper, which I am very thankful for. She refuses to drink from a bottle, preferring Mommy instead. She loves to be held facing out so she can see all the things around her. She had her checkup today and weighs 10 lbs 12 oz and is 23 1/4 inches long. She is in the 85% for height, 50% for weight and 70% for head circumference. So she is tall and average with a big bobble head or in other words, perfect.

"Please quit taking my picture, Mom."

One happy baby!

One tired baby..
